Roxburgh Quartet was formed in 2005 with a common vision: to share a passion for the wonderful repertoire for string quartet with as wide an audience as possible.Having recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, Roxburgh Quartet have performed a large repertoire in concerts throughout Scotland. They are Quartet in Residence at Edinburgh’s beautiful Lauriston Hall where they regularly play to large audiences.
As a group Roxburgh Quartet have studied with the former leader of the Lindsays, Peter Cropper and individually with teachers such as Irvin Arditti, Stefan Litwin, Lukas Hagen, Walter Levin, Paul Tortelier and Thomas Kakuska.
‘…..This is now a well-established group who play with unaffected grace and ease of ensemble; their sound is warm, intimate and involving, and they are adept in presenting a balanced musical discourse in a convincing but relaxed and unaffected manner.’
Howard Duthie, Strathearn Music Society
