A devout Catholic\, Byrd lived the life of an Elizabethan recusant and in his Gradualia publications and settings of the Mass Ordinary he provided a comprehensive compendium of music for the Catholic mass\, which in the early seventeenth century was still being conducted in clandestine services held in the private houses of the Catholic nobility. More than this\, many of Byrd’s chosen motet texts\, with their themes of desolation and a desire for divine intervention\, have been seen to allude to the plight of the Catholics in England during his lifetime. \nOne hour\, twenty-five minutes (not including interval) \n\n\n \n \n \n The Marian Consort \nRory McCleery\, Director\nCharlotte Ashley\, Lucinda Cox – Soprano\nHelen Charlston\, Hannah Cooke – Alto\nEdward Ross\, Ashley Turnell – Tenor\nMichael Craddock\, Edmund Saddington – Bass \n\n\n \n \n \n .fusion-button.button-1 .fusion-button-text\, .fusion-button.button-1 i {color:#efefef;}.fusion-button.button-1 {border-width:0px;border-color:#efefef;}.fusion-button.button-1 .fusion-button-icon-divider{border-color:#efefef;}.fusion-button.button-1:hover .fusion-button-text\, .fusion-button.button-1:hover i\,.fusion-button.button-1:focus .fusion-button-text\, .fusion-button.button-1:focus i\,.fusion-button.button-1:active .fusion-button-text\, .fusion-button.button-1:active{color:#bcbcbc;}.fusion-button.button-1:hover\, .fusion-button.button-1:focus\, .fusion-button.button-1:active{border-width:0px;border-color:#bcbcbc;}.fusion-button.button-1:hover .fusion-button-icon-divider\, .fusion-button.button-1:hover .fusion-button-icon-divider\, .fusion-button.button-1:active .fusion-button-icon-divider{border-color:#bcbcbc;}.fusion-button.button-1{width:100%;}Click here for more information on The Marian Consort\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n URL: LOCATION:Crichton Church\, Crichton\, Midlothian\, EH37 5XA\, United Kingdom CATEGORIES:Concerts ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg: END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
